Bhatbhateni “khasi ko Masu Rs. 850 / Kg – Review

khasi ko masu
Farmer sell their production of Goat at 600 Per kg, when it reaches cities and mega cities it doubles. Why there are no entrepeneurs who can add 20% to the price of farmer and sell in mega cities at reasonable price?

We were visiting Chulachuli village last year october before dashin and price of Goat Meat ” Khasi ko masu” was Rs. 600 Per kilo. In small town (dhankuta) price was Rs. 750 at the same time and in Large cities (biratnagar) price was Rs. 900, and in kathmandu valley (mega city) its price was 1250 and above. This is case of price discrimination of last year during dashin. I was thinkng why price is more than double in Mega cities. Farmer sell their production of Goat at 600 Per kg, when it reaches cities and mega cities it doubles. Why there are no entrepeneurs who can add 20% to the price of farmer and sell in mega cities at reasonable price?

Going to buy Goat Meat ( Khasi ko masu) in kathmandu is Luxury. You have to have a good monthly income to afford Goat meat in Nepal. “Khasi ko Masu” is attached with our lifestyle and Nepali culture regardless of its price. Goat meat always cost three fold to fourfold than chicken. Recently in Kathmandu its price range from 1250 to 1350 per kg. Exceptionally now a days if you are “masu Lover” there is a good news for you. YOU CAN BUY KHASI KO MASU AT BHATBHATENI AT ONLY NPR 850 PER KG.

YES YOU ARE READING IT TRUE. Bhatbhateni is offering Goat Meat at NPR 850 Per Kg now days. Meat are imported from Nepalgunj (516 kms South west of Kathmandu). I am a meat lover and I rushed to bhatbhateni early in the morning to buy KHASI ko masu and cooked and enjoyed the meat. I have positive review regarding quality and my experience of cooking and eating the meat.

I found it fresh (as it was frozen and properly packed), I cooked it and it tasted similar to the meat that I used to buy from nearby butcher. After eating three plates of rice with the meat I started thinking “what if KHASI ko masu would ever cost 850 Rs per Kg. This was the topic in my mind whole day. Why some entrepreneurs cannot deliver meat in reasonable price, when price at village, small town and large city varies.

Bhatbhateni want people to know that they sell meat also. They are using DISCOUNT technique to suppliment their marketing budget. This is “groupon model” where you invest marketing budget to reduce the price of product and service and people directly benefit with the offer and further become loyal. When I bought the meat packet its MRP was 1250 per kg. This means when offer ends regular price will be 1250 per kg

Now, How can any organization manage their supply chain so that they can deliver fresh meat at very reasonable price? It is simple ! Do everything in bulk. E.g. Farming in bulk, supply in bulk and acheive economies of scale. Link this economics with modern supply chain techniques and practice agile menifesto. In few months your undertaking will be one of the best model supplying Very fresh Goat meat in every corner of Nepal at the cheapest possible price. If you formulate excellent supply chain strategy, you can deliver meat on the very next day in the hands of end user or consumer.

This might disrupt the system in long term and we shall write more on supply chain in our next posts. Now we are waiting for some entrepreneurs who are really excellent in managing resources and managing supply chain and dare to make goat meat (Khasi ko masu) very reasonable in price, while maintaining quality.
